2025 Argiolas - Vermentino di Sardegna DOC Costamolino (750ml)
Delivers the crisp, saline-driven character of coastal Sardinia in every pour, rooted in viticultural expertise at the third-generation Argiolas estate.
Grown on the roughly 40-hectare Vigne Vecchie property in the hills near Selegas, this 2025 Vermentino di Sardegna DOC captures the signature profiles of island-grown whites. The name “Costamolino” references the sandy soils bordering the vineyards, where elevation and steady Mediterranean breezes preserve natural acidity while building concentrated flavor. After gentle pressing, the juice ferments at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to lock in volatile aromatics. A measured portion undergoes malolactic conversion to introduce soft structure without muting the grape’s inherent minerality.
The wine pours a bright straw yellow with pale green reflections. On the nose, it reveals layered resinous herbal notes of wild pine and fresh mint alongside ripe peach, citrus peel, and faint oceanic salinity. The palate is structured and vibrant, carrying a stony mid-weight that drops into a clean, mouthwatering finish driven by persistent acidity.
Serve slightly chilled between 46°F and 50°F. It pairs seamlessly with grilled octopus, sautéed clams, briny oysters, or classic Sardinian preparations like pasta con bottarga and herb-roasted white fish.
