The 2025 Ca’Marcanda Vistamare channels Bolgheri’s coastal terroir into a bright, saline-driven white blend crafted by Angelo Gaja’s dedicated estate winery.

Sited on a gentle hillside overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, the vineyard’s consistent marine breeze and abundant sunlight impart remarkable freshness to the harvested fruit. Built around Vermentino and rounded out with Viognier and Fiano, the wine ferments entirely in stainless steel followed by a brief resting period in oak to preserve primary fruit character while weaving in subtle structural integration.

Expect a vivid straw-yellow hue opening into an expressive nose of white peach, ripe quince, and fresh tarragon. Crisp white grapefruit acidity moves cleanly into a medium-bodied, energetic palate where the Viognier component delivers noticeable aromatic lift and textural breadth. A distinct coastal salinity anchors the finish. Although the 2025 vintage shows excellent early balance, it remains young in development and will gain greater depth, smoother texture, and integrated polish with two to four years of careful bottle aging.

Serve lightly chilled to emphasize its herbal brightness and mineral core. This versatile white pairs seamlessly with grilled branzino or sardines, steamed clams and mussels, herbed mild cheeses, and light Mediterranean dishes that reward high-acid white wines. Recognizable Gajastate pedigree meets approachable coastal elegance, available now for immediate dinner-table enjoyment or gradual cellaring.

96 Points
"Tasted as a preview, the 2025 Vistamare pours a bright straw yellow hue and has an expressive aromatic profile, with notes of white peach, quince, fresh tarragon, and white grapefruit, along with a saline edge. Medium-bodied, it has appealing freshness and good energy, and I expect it to flesh out further with time, gaining more texture and polish. As always, it’s a blend that includes Vermentino, Viognier, and Fiano, though the Viognier seems to shine more vividly within the fabric of this vintage."
