The 2025 Paolo Scavino Langhe Bianco Sorriso delivers a crisp, unwooded white wine that highlights the Natural Minerality and aromatic precision of the Langhe zone. Fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel with zero oak contact, the batch locks in vibrant acidity and primary fruit character while sidestepping the heavier tannins or vanilla tones common in barrel-aged blends.

Grown across roughly thirty hectares stretching through Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d'Alba, Verduno, Roddi, and Monforte d'Alba, the vintage relies on a precise blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. The Scavino family introduced the mix to explore elegant, complex expressions outside their established Nebbiolo portfolio. Visually, the wine shows a pale straw yellow structure with sharp emerald undertones. The nose opens with fresh white flowers, herbal sage, ripe yellow and orange fruit, and subtle stony minerality.

On the palate, the composition moves gently across the tongue with a delicate body and soft texture anchored by clean, sapid acidity. The dry finish invites steady sipping without overwhelming the senses. Because the wine avoids wood and maintains a tight acid spine, it performs best when matched to lighter preparations that benefit from bright counterpoints rather than heavy reductions. Serve it alongside slowly cooked risotto, light seafood courses, or straightforward vegetable dishes where the wine can provide refreshment without competing for attention.

Named for the Italian word for smile, Sorriso was first produced in 2000 to showcase how Piedmont terroir translates beyond traditional red-wine frameworks. Fourth-generation leader Enrico Scavino maintains the rigorous vineyard standards that earned the estate its barolo acclaim, now directing them toward a consistent, food-compatible white that delivers immediate approachability and reliable quality pour after pour.
