9diDANTE is the creation of Alex Ouziel, a Bacardi veteran and founder of Kaliro Spirits, working under the mentorship of Mario Baralis, a master blender who spent years safeguarding the recipes of the original Carpano house. The brand takes its name and concept from Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, tracing the poet's journey through Hell, Purgatory, and finally Paradise, with each expression tied to a different stage of that path. Paradiso represents the celestial conclusion of the series, produced at the historic Dr. M. Montanaro Distillery near Alba in Piedmont.

Paradiso is built on a rosé base of 88 percent Cortese and 12 percent Nebbiolo, both DOC Piedmontese wines, reflecting Ouziel's approach of treating the wine itself as a defining botanical rather than a neutral backdrop. Twenty-seven botanicals go into the blend, each extracted individually in small batches to preserve its character, with nine chosen to symbolize elements of Dante's vision of heaven. Ingredients include sage, gentian, coriander, wormwood, and orange peel, extracted at low proof to avoid scorching the delicate herbs.

The result pours an onion-skin hue, with a nose of grapefruit layered over the Nebbiolo's natural raspberry and star anise character. The palate turns toward mandarin, rosemary, and cocoa, finishing fresh and light rather than heavily sweet, true to the brand's drier, more bitter-leaning style.
