Tuaca Liqueur 750ml

Tuaca is a naturally flavored brandy liqueur of Italian origin, bottled at 35% ABV (70 proof). Its origins trace back to the Tuscan city of Livorno, and legend holds that a precursor recipe was created during the 16th-century Renaissance for Lorenzo de' Medici, the ruler of Florence and celebrated patron of Michelangelo and Botticelli. The modern commercial version was revived in 1938 by brothers-in-law Gaetano Tuoni and Giorgio Canepa, who founded Distillerie Tuoni e Canepa to produce the liqueur in Tuscany. The brand name itself is a blend of the two founders' surnames.

The base of Tuaca is imported Italian brandy, distilled from grapes, which lends the liqueur its foundational warmth and smooth viscosity. Natural vanilla, distilled citrus essences from Mediterranean orange, and subtle spices are blended in to complete the flavor profile. The result is a sweet golden-brown liqueur with a characteristically approachable, mildly sweet character.

On the palate, Tuaca opens with soft aromas of toasted marshmallow, praline, dried fruit, and pepper, leading to a silky entry with a mildly sweet medium body. Notes of vanilla and melon carry through to a finish with a gentle tingle of white pepper. Complex secondary notes of dried fig, cola, and butterscotch add further depth.

Tuaca's mild, sweet flavor makes it popular as a cordial served both hot and iced, and as a versatile cocktail ingredient. Classic serves include the Tuaca Hot Apple Pie, the Tuaca Lemon Drop, and the Tuscan Mule. It is equally enjoyable neat or over ice as a digestif.
