2021 Nozzole - Chianti Classico Riserva (750ml)

Nozzole is the Folonari family’s estate north of Greve in Chianti Classico, set at about 984 feet in rugged, hilly terrain. The 2021 is 100% Sangiovese from a vintage with a hot, dry summer and ideal, cool-nighted September and October. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel. The wine then spends 24 months in oak and 3 months in bottle. Dark berry, cherry and plum come with spice, walnut, cedar and earthy notes. It’s medium to full-bodied and balanced, with firm tannins and a long, salty finish. It’s best from 2026 through 2038. Pair it with roast meats, poultry, grilled sausages and hard cheeses.
