2023 O'Dwyer's Creek - Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Kosher (750ml)
O'Dwyer's Creek is a small, family-run estate on eight hectares near Blenheim, in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand, owned and operated by husband and wife Lindsay and Trish Dahlberg. The couple began growing grapes for other Marlborough wineries in 2002 before deciding in 2010 to bottle their own wine under the O'Dwyer's Creek name, taken from the road where their vineyard sits. At the encouragement of Jewish friends, the Dahlbergs, who are not themselves Jewish, chose to produce their wines under strict kosher supervision, and the estate remains the only Orthodox Union certified kosher wine producer in Marlborough.
The vineyard benefits from Marlborough's cool maritime climate, long sunny days, and free-draining soils, conditions widely regarded as ideal for growing Sauvignon Blanc with vivid aromatics and natural acidity. As a single estate-grown wine, this bottling reflects the specific character of the Dahlbergs' own vines rather than fruit sourced more broadly across the region, and it is produced under OU certification, available in both mevushal and non-mevushal versions.
The wine shows classic Marlborough character, with lifted aromas of gooseberry, lime, and grapefruit alongside fresh-cut grass and passionfruit. The palate is crisp and vibrant, carrying tropical and citrus flavors through to a clean, mineral-tinged finish. It pairs nicely with seafood, salads, light poultry, and festive gatherings.
