Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream is produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery, situated on the banks of the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Kentucky. The distillery traces its roots back to 1775, making it one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the country, and it has passed through various names over the centuries, including the George T. Stagg Distillery, before settling on its current identity. Now under the Sazerac Company, it remains known for a wide range of celebrated bourbons.

This liqueur is handmade in small batches using Buffalo Trace's own Kentucky Straight Bourbon blended with real cream. The bourbon itself comes from the distillery's Mash Bill #1, a recipe built around corn, rye, and malted barley, matured in new oak barrels before it becomes the base for the cream liqueur. The result is a genuine marriage of two products rather than a flavored spirit, letting the bourbon's character come through alongside the dairy component.

Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream opens with aromas of vanilla, caramel, and fresh cream layered over hints of oak. On the palate it is rich and velvety, delivering butterscotch and toffee sweetness balanced by a gentle spice and the underlying warmth of bourbon, finishing smooth with a lingering creamy, slightly nutty note.
