Paolucci Limoncello Liqueur 750ml
Paolucci Liquori traces its roots to 1873, when Vincenzo Paolucci settled in Sora, a town in the Ciociaria sub-region of Lazio, after relocating from neighboring Abruzzo. Drawn to the wild herbs and botanicals of the nearby Liri Valley, he began crafting artisanal infusions that grew into a full range of liqueurs, most famously Amaro Ciociaro. The business passed to his son Donato, whose products earned gold medals at trade fairs in the 1920s, and it remains a family run distillery in Sora today, producing limoncello alongside its amari, sambuca, and grappa.
Paolucci Limoncello is made in this same central Italian workshop using hand-selected lemons prized for their ripeness and aromatic zest. The peels are carefully separated from the bitter white pith and infused into neutral spirit, where they steep over an extended period so the essential oils can fully release into the base. The infusion is then sweetened and blended to achieve a full, rounded body without becoming syrupy, following methods the Paolucci family has passed down for generations.
The liqueur pours a bright yellow with faint greenish highlights and offers an inviting rush of fresh lemon and citrus on the nose. The palate carries a well balanced mix of sweetness and tartness, with real lemon character rather than an artificial edge, trailing into a long, smooth finish that lingers pleasantly.
