El Tesoro Blanco Tequila 750ml
El Tesoro is produced at La Alteña Distillery in Arandas, in the highlands of Jalisco, founded in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena. The distillery, whose location at roughly 7,200 feet makes it the highest elevation tequila producer in Jalisco, is also home to the Tapatio range, and the Camarena family continues to oversee production even after Beam Suntory acquired the brand in 2010, keeping the traditional methods unchanged.
This blanco is made from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave, with piñas cooked for three days in traditional brick ovens before being crushed by a two-ton tahona stone. Fermentation and distillation include both the agave juice and its fibers, a technique that adds textural richness, and the tequila is distilled straight to proof so no water is added afterward. It is bottled unaged and additive free at 40% ABV, capturing the raw character of the agave without dilution.
The nose offers fresh agave with light salinity, honey, and green olive alongside vegetal and citrus notes. On the palate the tequila is vibrant and vegetal, with deep minerality, a lively kick of white pepper, and faint vanilla, finishing with delicate touches of apple and pear that slowly dissolve.
