Fee Brothers Cranberry Bitters 5oz
Fee Brothers has been producing bitters and bar staples out of Rochester, New York since 1864, remaining a family-owned business through multiple generations while growing into one of the largest suppliers of bar mixes and flavorings in the country. Alongside its bitters line, the company also makes syrups and flavor extracts for restaurants and coffee shops, keeping all production centered in its original Rochester facility.
Cranberry Bitters is built on Fee Brothers' glycerin base rather than high-proof alcohol, flavored with natural and artificial cranberry extract, citric acid for tartness, and a touch of quinine for bitterness. The lower alcohol content puts it closer to a fruit extract than a spirit-forward bitters, and the deep red color comes through as a clear, translucent liquid rather than the darker tones typical of aromatic styles.
The aroma is bright and unmistakably cranberry, with orange peel and a faint earthy botanical note underneath. On the palate, tart cranberry leads with a touch of sweetness, and quinine gives a light, restrained bitterness rather than a heavy punch, closing on a crisp, tangy finish. It works well stirred into vodka, gin, or white rum drinks where a tart berry note is welcome.
