Cantine Madaudo is a true Sicilian family affair, now in its fourth generation with Rosario Madaudo working alongside his father Alfio, uncle Andrea, brother Giuseppe, and cousins. Fumante is sourced from the high-altitude, volcanic soils of Contrada San Lorenzo on Etna's north slope, a coveted cru also farmed by several other acclaimed Etna producers. Made primarily from Nerello Mascalese, expect a classic Sicilian powerhouse profile: dark fruit, vertical, structured tannins, and telltale notes of tobacco and smoke, all shaped by the mountain's warm climate but carrying an elegance more often associated with cooler northern Italian reds. A serious, terroir-driven expression from one of Etna's most storied single-vineyard sites.
