Maison Joseph Drouhin was founded in Beaune in 1880 and remains a family-run house four generations later, now guided by siblings Véronique, Frédéric, Philippe, and Laurent Drouhin. Over more than a century the family assembled an enviable portfolio of vineyard holdings across Burgundy, from Chablis down through the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, and much of the domaine is farmed biodynamically to preserve the character of each individual site.

Les Amoureuses sits on clay-limestone soils just below Musigny, and this cuvée is drawn from four domaine-owned parcels of old vines within the vineyard. Grapes are hand-harvested and roughly forty percent are fermented as whole clusters, adding structure and lift to the wine. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, with only a modest portion new, allowing the fruit and terroir to remain in focus.

The wine shows ripe black cherry and raspberry, with kirsch, violet, and a whisper of forest floor beneath a chalky mineral edge. The palate is velvety and refined, framed by fine tannins and lively acidity that carry through a long, perfumed finish. It pairs naturally with roast game, braised duck, or a washed-rind cheese.
