Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is the husband-and-wife house of Pierre-Yves Colin and Caroline Morey, based in Chassagne-Montrachet. Pierre-Yves is the eldest son of Marc Colin, who founded the domaine that became Marc Colin et Fils some four decades ago, and he left in 2005 to build his own house from inherited family vineyards. He is now considered among Burgundy's most sought-after white wine producers, known for wines of striking energy and precision.

Les Champlots is a tiny, 0.65-hectare parcel planted in 1994 on the steep slopes above La Chatenière, benefiting from a southwest exposure and cooling winds that help preserve freshness in a warm year. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented with natural yeasts, then aged largely in 350-liter barrels with no lees stirring, fining, or filtration.

The wine shows green apple, pear, and white flowers, with lemon oil, hazelnut, and a flinty, wet-stone edge. Medium to full-bodied, it is taut and chalky, with lively acidity and a long, saline finish. It pairs well with roast chicken and herbs, seared scallops, or a soft goat cheese.

90-92 Points
"The 2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots is bright and mineral, exhibiting aromas of pear, white flowers, green apple, lemon oil and hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, taut and chalky, with lively acids and a saline finish, it's a strong effort."
