2023 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc — Pessac-Léognan AOC, Grand Cru Classé de Graves | 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon |

One of Pessac-Léognan's most storied addresses for white wine — the Kressmann family estate bearing a medieval tower once connected to the ancestors of philosopher Montesquieu, Grand Cru Classé in both red and white since 1953. The reputation of the property depends largely on its white wines — Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon hand-harvested in successive passes according to the progress of ripeness, then aged in French oak under the direction of winemaker Valérie Vialard. The 2023 delivers exotic fruit and citrus aromatics alongside delicate notes of white peach, with wonderful tension providing freshness and sustaining body and richness through the finish. The unusually high Sémillon component distinguishes this from the Sauvignon-dominant Pessac whites — adding texture, depth, and genuine aging potential. Drink now–203

94 Points
"Ripe stone and tropical fruits, minty herbs, and white flower nuances all emerge from the 2023 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc, a clean, crisp, and expressive Pessac-Léognan Blanc. It's medium-bodied on the palate, with a pure, layered mouthfeel, rock-solid balance, and a kiss of salty minerality on the finish. Drink bottles over the coming decade (or even longer if you're so inclined). Drink 2026-2040."
