Pierre Faiveley founded the domaine in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and his nephew Joseph expanded it considerably in 1860 with the purchase of Corton Clos des Corton, a rare single-owner grand cru. Successive generations pushed the estate's reach south into the Côte Chalonnaise, including Montagny, and it is now led by siblings Erwan and Eve Faiveley, who took the helm in 2005 and 2014 respectively, continuing nearly two centuries of family stewardship.

Les Cent Pièces takes its name from the hundred traditional Burgundian barrels, or pièces, the parcel is capable of filling in a generous year. The vines, over thirty years old, are planted across the Le Reuilly and Les Joncs climats on east to southeast-facing slopes reaching four hundred meters, in stony, marl-laced soil threaded with natural springs. The wine spends sixteen months on its lees, mostly in tank with a small portion aged in French oak, only a tenth of it new.

Floral aromatics lead into lemon zest, green apple, and white flowers, framed by a chalky mineral edge. The palate is vibrant and concentrated, with a silky texture and a long, saline finish. Pair it with grilled shrimp, roast chicken, or fresh crab.
