Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat has called Vougeot home since Alain Hudelot established the estate in 1962, later expanding through vineyards brought in by his wife, Odile Noëllat. Alain stepped back in 2008, passing the reins to his grandson, Charles van Canneyt, who now farms roughly ten hectares spread across fifteen appellations in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, and Vosne-Romanée. The domaine's reputation rests on a highly refined, almost weightless style of red Burgundy that favors precision over power.

Within the walled Clos de Vougeot, the domaine's holding sits in the vineyard's most sought-after upper section, close to neighbors like Méo-Camuzet and just below Musigny. The 0.8-hectare plot is split across two parcels, farmed sustainably and hand-harvested before aging in barrel with around forty percent new oak, a proportion chosen to add gentle spice without overwhelming the site's natural finesse.

The wine leads with floral and mineral tones, joined by notes of earth and undergrowth rather than heavy fruit. On the palate it stays racy and supple, with fine tannins, a touch of vanilla spice, and a poised, elegant finish. It suits roasted quail, braised beef, or a ripe Époisses.

92-94 Points
"The 2024 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a perfumed, floral bouquet, desiccated rose petals infusing the wild strawberry, raspberry and cranberry aromas. Refined and elegant. The palate is medium-bodied with a sorbet-fresh entry, quite citrus-driven with a keen line of acidity. Doesn't quite fan out like the previous couple of vintages but there is commendable purity and poise.
