2024 Bodega Garzon - Tannat Reserva (750ml)
Uruguay's signature grape — from the winery that put the country on the world wine map.
Located on the coastal province of Maldonado in southeastern Uruguay, Bodega Garzón is a benchmark estate producing Tannat — the national grape of Uruguay — from granite-based hillside soils just 11 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, where the maritime influence shapes wines of remarkable freshness and structure.
100% Tannat, fermented in concrete tanks and aged in untoasted French oak, the Reserva delivers a rich nose of dark chocolate, blackberry, balsamic, and cedar. On the palate, concentrated blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, and Earl Grey tea flavors are framed by vibrant acidity and firm but not overwhelming tannins, with lingering berry fruit on the finish.
Full-bodied and structured, with light notes of herbs and graphite complementing the dark fruit and carrying through the finish. A textbook Tannat — bold, food-friendly, and wildly overdelivering for the price. Made for the grill.
