Domaine Chanson has been a Burgundy house since 1750, and it now farms about 88 hectares across the Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, mostly in Premier Cru vineyards. The estate has moved to organic farming, with 2024 marking its first certified harvest. Its wines mature in the Bastion de l'Oratoire cellar in Beaune, a fortification begun under Louis XI and completed under François I.

En Caradeux is a Premier Cru parcel of roughly 1.8 hectares on the mid-slope of Pernand-Vergelesses, beside the hill of Corton-Charlemagne. Its east-facing exposure is credited with giving the wine a distinctive mineral character. The 2024 season began with a mild winter and early bud break, followed by frost, thunderstorms, and heavy rain through spring and summer. Chanson harvested the Chardonnay between September 11 and 21. The wine was aged on fine lees for 16 months in French oak barrels, 20 percent of them new and the rest one to six years old.

Pale golden in color, it shows ripe citrus and honey aromas with a delicate oak note and a mineral edge. The palate is lively, well structured, and generous, with a firm line of acidity running through it. An intense, linear finish gives the wine real precision and persistence.
