Françoise and Denis Clair founded their eponymous domaine in Santenay in 1986, though the Clair family had farmed vines in the village for generations before establishing their own label. Today the estate is guided by their son, Jean-Baptiste Clair, who has overseen the vineyards and cellar work for more than a decade, tending parcels across Santenay and neighboring Saint-Aubin with a careful, traditional hand.

This cuvée comes from Les Murgers des Dents de Chien, a premier cru site on the steep, south-facing slope of Saint-Aubin that borders Puligny-Montrachet, its name drawn from the jagged limestone outcrop rising above the vines. Grapes are harvested by hand from Chardonnay grown on shallow limestone and clay soils, then pressed gently and fermented and aged in a small number of oak barrels, lending quiet structure without masking the fruit.

In the glass, the wine shows a pale, luminous straw color and an aromatic profile built around white blossom, citrus peel, and a trace of almond. The palate is fresh and mineral driven, with a round, generous texture balanced by lively acidity that carries through a long, saline finish, echoing the site's proximity to Burgundy's grandest white wine terroirs.
