2024 Domaine de la Folie - Aligote Clos la Folie (750ml)

Domaine de la Folie tends a historic vineyard planted directly around its château in Rully, at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. The estate is known for precise, hands-on work in the vines and a measured, careful approach in the cellar, both aimed at preserving pure fruit expression and the natural tension that defines Burgundian white varieties. Its calcareous terroirs give the wines a distinctly mineral backbone.

This cuvée comes from Clos la Folie, a domaine monopole planted with Aligoté Doré vines that are now over a century old, growing on well-drained clay-limestone soils that favor freshness and minerality. The old vines yield a small, concentrated crop of berries, and the wine sees partial aging in oak, a choice meant to add texture and depth without smothering the variety's natural energy.

The nose offers fresh lemon, green apple, and white flower, lifted by a subtle almond note and chalky mineral edge. The palate is precise and energetic, with lively acidity and a smooth, almost creamy texture carrying touches of pear and quince through to a clean, saline finish. Try it with fish tartare, a herbed omelette, or young Chaource.
