Domaine de la Folie has been in the same family for more than three centuries, based in Chagny at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. Since 2010 the estate has been run by Clémence and Baptiste Dubrulle, who came to winemaking after earlier careers in press relations and engineering. Their thirteen hectares include several of Rully's most sought-after climats, farmed sustainably and vinified with an emphasis on precision over intervention.

Clos Saint-Jacques is one of the domaine's most prized monopoles, a compact 1.69-hectare, east-facing Premier Cru site planted with vines eighty to ninety years old on clay-limestone soils. The grapes are pressed at low pressure with no added sulfur during vinification, then aged in barrel, twenty percent of it new, a decision that adds structure and complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

The 2024 shows real intensity on the nose, with yellow plum, lemon verbena, and light crushed white flowers layered over toast and butter. The palate is mouthwatering and energetic, with pronounced salinity and a long, smoked-stone finish. Pair it with grilled lobster, herb-crusted veal, or young Reblochon.
