William Fèvre began building this estate in 1959 with just seven hectares, gradually expanding his holdings to include some of Chablis's finest Premier and Grand Cru sites before selling to Joseph Henriot in 1998. Winemaker Didier Séguier, previously with the Bouchard team in Beaune, has overseen the cellar ever since, guiding the domaine through a 2023 sale to Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the family behind Château Lafite, with Séguier staying on to preserve continuity of style. The estate has farmed organically since 2006, with biodynamic practices layered in more recently.

The domaine owns just over four hectares of Bougros, close to half the entire climat, on southwest-facing slopes where the soil runs deeper than the steep, river-hugging Côte de Bouguerots section nearby. That extra depth of soil tends to give Bougros more richness and power than Fèvre's other Grand Cru bottlings, even in a year like 2024, when hail losses across the left bank limited yields.

The 2024 shows real warmth and length, with aromas of nectarine, peach, and quince. The texture is dense yet lively, carrying real drive through a long finish. Pair it with crab cakes, herb-roasted pork loin, or aged Manchego.

92-95 Points
