Azelia is based in Castiglione Falletto, right in the heart of Barolo country, and this bottling draws from the estate's youngest vines, averaging 20 to 30 years old, planted on southwest and southeast-facing slopes in Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba. A short 8-to-10-day maceration and exclusive aging in stainless steel (no oak) preserve the grape's pure, vibrant character rather than building structure for long-term cellaring. Expect a brilliant, lively color with violet and floral aromas, moving into juicy red fruit, cherry, strawberry, and red currant, backed by zesty acidity and ripe, approachable tannins. A genuine "Barolo preview" with instant drinkability, widely regarded as one of the better values in the category.
