2025 Nervi-Conterno - Piemonte DOC Rosato (750ml)

When Roberto Conterno, the mastermind behind the legendary Barolo Riserva Monfortino, took charge of the historic Nervi estate in Gattinara (Piedmont's oldest, founded in 1906), few expected him to also turn his hand to rosato, yet the result has become one of the most sought-after pink wines in Italy. Made primarily from Nebbiolo grown on Gattinara's volcanic, porphyric soils, with a touch of Uva Rara, and de-stemmed fully with carefully controlled fermentation to keep tannin extraction low. Expect a pale coral-pink hue with a lifted bouquet of wild strawberry, blood orange, nectarine, rose petal, and alpine herbs, underscored by a distinctive mineral edge. The palate is bone-dry and taut, with bright citrus and cherry fruit wrapped around vibrant acidity and a whisper of Nebbiolo's structure, a genuinely serious, mineral-driven rosé built with more depth and ageability than the category typically offers.
