2025 Paros Farming Community - Seiradi Mandilaria (750ml)
Paros Farming Community, known by its Seiradi brand, is a cooperative on the Cycladic island of Paros, founded in 1929 when local farmers pooled their resources. It brings together about 30 growers and makes wine alongside cheese and olive oil. A reinvigorated chapter began in 2021 under Dimitris Mansolas, who brought investment and a fresh identity centered on the island’s native grapes, white Monemvasia and red Mandilaria.
Seiradi Mandilaria is made entirely from Mandilaria, a tannic, high-acid red grape, and carries the Cyclades PGI. Many of the island’s vines are old, ungrafted, and trained low to the ground to shelter from the wind, giving naturally small yields, and farming is organic. Fermentation uses wild yeasts. Earlier vintages received a four-day cold soak at 10°C before fermentation, with pumping over during fermentation and six months in stainless steel with weekly lees stirring.
Medium crimson in the glass, it offers sour cherry and cranberry with a floral, rose-like lift. The palate shows juicy plum and a bitter orange edge, framed by firm tannins and bright acidity, with the saline tang typical of the Cyclades.
