Patricia Green Cellars is a Ribbon Ridge AVA winery known for its deep commitment to Oregon's heritage vineyard sites, many of them organically or sustainably farmed. The Reserve bottling has an unusual backstory: it began in 2002 as a special selection of exceptional barrels that did not quite fit the winery's single-vineyard wines, and it remains the most widely produced and accessible bottling in a lineup that includes close to two dozen distinct Pinot Noirs each vintage. According to the winery, 2024 stands as the finest Reserve in its history, built from an unusually generous surplus of barrels sourced from top sites, including vines planted between 25 and 50 years ago.

The result is a red-fruited, highly perfumed Pinot Noir with the kind of texture and length more often found in wines twice the price. Expect vibrant raspberry and pomegranate flavors laced with fresh violet and orange blossom, building toward polished, silky tannins. Underlying notes of spice, cola, and smoky minerality add complexity, while bright acidity keeps the wine lifted and energetic through a long finish.

An excellent introduction to the winery's site-driven house style, and a great value for the quality in the glass.

92 Points
"The 2024 Pinot Noir Reserve, which contains fruit from many of the single vineyards in the Patricia Green portfolio, is elegant and energetic. It boasts pure, detailed aromas of red cherry, blackberry, bergamot, anise and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is detailed and spicy with silky tannins, vibrant acidity that lures you back to the glass and a long, nuanced finish."
