2023 Weinbach - Pinot Blanc (750ml)
Domaine Weinbach is one of Alsace's most storied estates, based in Kientzheim and rooted in a history that dates back to being sold as national property during the French Revolution before the Faller brothers acquired it in 1898. Théo Faller, a prominent figure in Alsace winegrowing, led the estate until his death in 1979, after which his wife Colette and daughters Catherine and Laurence carried the family's commitment to quality forward. Since 2016, Catherine has led the winery alongside her sons, Eddy and Théo. The estate farms using both organic and biodynamic practices, and its portfolio spans estate varietal wines, single-vineyard bottlings that express the diversity of Alsace's terroir, and luscious late-harvest wines.
This vibrant Pinot Blanc opens with delicate aromas of orchard fruit and white blossom. On the palate, expect crisp yellow apple, white pear, and white flowers, framed by a vibrant sense of minerality. The wine is well structured, with an appealing contrast between fresh acidity and ripe fruit, ending on a firm, persistent finish.
This is a versatile, food-friendly white, pairing beautifully with grilled chicken and couscous or fried catfish, and it's equally at home alongside charcuterie or a simple cheese board.
