This 750 ml bottle presents MacRostie’s 2023 Chardonnay from Sonoma Coast, a cool-climate expression drawing fruit from Carneros, the Russian River Valley, and the Petaluma Gap. The sites are selected for marine fog exposure and a long, even ripening season, creating a wine with bright fruits and clean energy.

Grapes are typically harvested at night to preserve freshness, and much of the juice is fermented and aged in French oak barrels. This approach adds texture and structure while letting the fruit’s bright character remain at the forefront.

  • Color: medium golden
  • Aromas: persimmon, ripe Meyer lemon, and brioche
  • Palate: lush and textural with bright citrus flavors; a cool-climate energy that carries through a long, poised finish

Winemaking notes: Winemaker Heidi Bridenhagen continues the fresh, elegant style Steve MacRostie pioneered, and the winery maintains certification as a sustainably farmed producer in California.

  • Food pairings: Dungeness crab, roasted turkey, or butter-poached lobster
93 Points
"Plenty of ripe, succulent fruit on a full body and a smooth, rounded texture. Applesauce, pineapple, brown butter and vanilla bean flavors give ample richness. Drink now. Screw cap."
