2023 Vignoble des Cabottes – Meursault Les Clous

One of Burgundy's most anticipated new chapters began with the 2023 vintage. Vignoble des Cabottes was created by Artémis Domaines — the wine division of François Pinault, owner of Château Latour — drawing on a selection of elite parcels transferred from the Bouchard Père & Fils portfolio, including holdings in Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, and the finest Premier Cru sites of Meursault. The 2023 is the inaugural vintage to be released under the Cabottes label, making this bottle a piece of Burgundy history. 

At the helm is Frédéric Weber, long-time technical director, who now has the freedom and resources to pursue micro-plot vinification, extended élevage, and the most precise expression of each individual terroir. All vineyards carry organic certification, with full biodynamic conversion underway. 

Les Clous sits on the upper half of Meursault's hillside, where altitude and limestone soils produce a distinctly tighter, more mineral expression than the richer lower slopes. The 2023 shows a straight and tense profile — ripe, yet firmly in the white-citrus spectrum, with a slight shiver on the palate and light pith to finish. Think focused lemon zest, white flowers, crushed stone, and a cool saline lift on the finish — precision over opulence, with real energy and length.
