Théo Dancer, son of founder Vincent Dancer, has run the family's small Chassagne-Montrachet domaine since taking over fully in 2021, continuing the estate's organic farming and minimal-intervention philosophy while pushing it in new directions of his own. One of his most forward-looking projects has been an agroforestry planting high above the village of Nantoux, where he is exploring what Burgundian Chardonnay can express when grown on a cooler, higher site alongside a mix of local trees and flowering hedgerows.

This wine comes from that young vineyard, a two-hectare parcel on a limestone plateau roughly four hundred meters above Pommard, planted between 2019 and 2021 with massal-selection Chardonnay developed with nurseryman Lilian Bérillon. The vines are farmed organically and trained without a cane, tied instead to individual stakes, with cultivation of the soil kept to a minimum. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged in used, larger-format barrels rather than new oak, letting the site's altitude and freshness come through untouched by wood.

The wine offers aromas of ripe pear, white flowers, and fresh mint, with a cool citrus edge underneath. The palate is medium to full-bodied and satiny, with fine texture and cut, finishing on a bright, gently aromatic, mineral note.
