Berta Grappa di Nebbiolo Tresolitre 2008 Grappa 750ml
Distillerie Berta is a family-run producer based in Mombaruzzo, in the Asti province of Piedmont, a region long associated with fine Italian distillation. The company takes its name from founder Paolo Berta, whose family has built a reputation for crafting aged, terroir-driven grappas that highlight single grape varieties from some of Italy's most prized wine denominations. Tre Soli Tre stands as one of the distillery's signature bottlings, prized for its rarity and patient approach to aging.
This grappa is distilled from the pomace of Nebbiolo grapes grown for Barolo wine, sourced from vineyards in the Langhe hills. Unlike most grappa, which is bottled clear and young, this 2008 vintage was aged for eight years in oak casks, a process that deepens its color to a rich amber brown and layers in notes drawn from the wood itself. The result is bottled at 44% alcohol by volume, a powerful yet carefully balanced spirit built for slow sipping rather than immediate consumption.
The nose is intense and complex, offering ripe blackberry, cassis, and maraschino cherry alongside apricot, cocoa, and vanilla from the barrel aging. On the palate, those same aromas return in a deep, warm, and elegant expression, finishing long and smooth. It is best enjoyed at room temperature in a wide glass, allowing its full range of aromatics to open gradually.
