Elouan was founded by Joseph Wagner, a fourth generation Napa Valley winemaker best known for building the Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon brand alongside his family before launching his own ventures, including the widely known Belle Glos and Meiomi Pinot Noir labels. With Elouan, Wagner turned his attention north to Oregon, taking his signature approach of blending across multiple appellations rather than sourcing from a single region. The name itself means good light, a nod to the cool yet sun filled growing regions the wine draws from.

This Pinot Noir blends fruit from three of Oregon's premier western maritime regions: the Willamette, Umpqua, and Rogue Valleys, each contributing a distinct terrain that adds complexity when combined. The 2022 growing season began with a cool, wet spring that delayed flowering, followed by warm summer days and cool nights that allowed for slow ripening and vibrant acidity, with dry weather through mid October giving the fruit extra time to develop flavor. In the cellar, the grapes were destemmed, given an extended cold soak, and fermented using both punch down and pump over methods before aging ten months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak.

Rich ruby in color, this Pinot Noir offers aromas of ripe cranberry and fresh Bing cherry with a subtle earthiness. On the palate, red plum and bright cherry flavors meet vanilla, spice, and dusty earth, framed by soft, refined tannins. It pairs nicely with roast chicken, grilled salmon, or mushroom dishes.
