CrossBarn is the second label from Paul Hobbs, one of California's most respected winemakers, named for the 150-year-old cross barn still standing on the Hobbs family farm in upstate New York. That building represents the hard work and integrity Hobbs grew up with, values he carries into this project as an accessible counterpart to his namesake winery. While Hobbs is known for meticulous, site-specific winemaking across Napa and Sonoma, CrossBarn draws on fruit from several of his estate vineyards to create a purer, more youthful expression of each variety.

This Pinot Noir is sourced entirely from estate vineyards along the Sonoma Coast, including the George Menini, Cleary, Goldrock, and Catherine Lindsay sites. The Sonoma Coast AVA stretches from San Pablo Bay up toward the Mendocino County line, and its cooler pockets sit above the fog line on ridges that capture just enough sun for even ripening. Overnight temperature drops help preserve acidity in the fruit, giving the 2022 vintage its structure alongside concentrated flavor.

The wine opens with perfumed cranberry and pomegranate, joined by sweet baking spice, autumn leaves, and floral notes. On the palate it's light-bodied with a core of spicy red fruit, gently chalky tannins, and bright, mouthwatering acidity through a long finish. Pair it with grilled salmon, roasted duck breast, or a wild mushroom tart.
