From the celebrated François Raquillet estate, the 2023 Mercurey 1er Cru "Les Vasées" is a stunning expression of a top-tier Mercurey vineyard. Sourced from a premier cru site known for its distinctive terroir, this Pinot Noir delivers a captivating bouquet of concentrated black cherry and fresh red berries, underlined by subtle hints of spice and a delicate floral lift. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with a dense core of juicy fruit and a savory, earthy complexity. The tannins are refined and velvety, providing a long and graceful finish. The 2023 vintage, praised for its generous fruit and balance, makes this wine enjoyable in its youth, while also promising excellent aging potential for those who wish to cellar it.

90 Points
"This is aromatically relatively similar to the Clos du Paradis but with a broader range of spice nuances and in particular anise. The succulent, round and equally suave medium weight flavors possess both fine volume and a highly seductive mouthfeel before culminating in a bitter pit fruit and youthfully austere finale. This could use better depth so in contrast to several of the preceding wines, this does need to be cellared for at least a few years."
