2024 Patricia Green - Pinot Noir Reserve Willamette Valley (750ml)
Patricia Green Cellars was founded in 2000 by Patricia Green and Jim Anderson on a fifty-two acre property in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, built around a shared commitment to letting individual Oregon vineyard sites speak for themselves. The winery has since assembled one of the largest collections of historic Willamette Valley vineyard sites under a single roof, bottling dozens of separate, vineyard designated Pinot Noirs in a given vintage alongside a dry farming, sustainability minded approach to viticulture. Anderson now leads winemaking, continuing the collaborative, site driven philosophy the winery was built on.
The Reserve bottling has been part of the lineup since 2000, originally labeled Oregon in its earliest years before the Willamette Valley name gained wider recognition. It draws on barrels from a range of the winery's best vineyard sites, planted between twenty-five and fifty years ago, that did not quite fit the individual vineyard designated wines in a given year, though the sourcing remains impressively strong for an entry point bottling. The 2024 vintage benefited from excellent spring and summer weather and an early harvest, conditions the winery considers among the finest in its history.
This Reserve Pinot Noir is red fruited and highly perfumed, with expressive raspberry and pomegranate on the nose, layered with fresh violet and orange blossom. The palate builds toward polished, refined tannins with real length and texture. It pairs beautifully with roast duck, grilled salmon, or wild mushroom dishes.
