2003 Chateau Magrez Fombrauge - St. Emilion
Sometimes called the "garage wine" of Château Fombrauge, this is a more concentrated, lower-yield selection made under Bernard Magrez's ownership, distinct from the estate's standard Fombrauge bottling. The 2003 vintage, one of the hottest and most extreme growing seasons in modern Bordeaux history, produced notably ripe, powerful wines across the Right Bank. Expect a deep, dark ruby color with a nose of blackberry, blackcurrant, and lead pencil, moving into a full-bodied, concentrated palate with firm, focused tannins and real freshness for the vintage. A serious, richly styled St-Émilion now fully mature and drinking at its peak.
