NV Laurent-Perrier - Champagne Brut Cuvee Rose
Laurent-Perrier traces its roots to 1812, when André-Michel Pierlot established a Champagne merchant house in Tours-sur-Marne. Ownership passed through generations before landing with cellar master Eugène Laurent and later his widow, Mathilde Perrier, whose name the house still carries. In the twentieth century, under Bernard de Nonancourt, Laurent-Perrier became known for technical innovation, and in 1968 the house released Cuvée Rosé, widely credited with establishing non-vintage rosé as a serious Champagne category.
Cuvée Rosé is made entirely from Pinot Noir sourced from roughly ten crus in the Montagne de Reims, including prized sites around the Côte de Bouzy such as Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois, and Tours-sur-Marne. Rather than blending red and white wines, Laurent-Perrier uses the saignée method: destemmed grapes macerate on their skins for 48 to 72 hours to draw out color and aromatic depth before pressing and traditional-method fermentation.
The finished wine moves from a raspberry hue toward salmon pink in the glass, with aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, and wild strawberry layered over rose petal and a touch of biscuit. The palate is fresh and precise, carrying that red fruit intensity through a clean, persistent finish. It suits duck breast, charcuterie, or simple berry desserts.
