An atypically high percentage of Merlot (27%) in the final blend gives this vintage a sweeter, more fleshy texture than is typical for a young Latour. The wine opens with an opaque dark ruby/purple color and a backward, intense nose of walnut, cassis, and smoky pain grillé notes that build beautifully in the glass.
