A Bassins Direct Import — and one of the most exciting Southern Rhône discoveries made by our very own Phil Bernstein. This is precisely the kind of wine that makes having a great wine shop matter. The Lambert family has farmed the Domaine des Pasquiers since 1935, with 87 hectares spread across some of the Southern Rhône's most coveted appellations — and after converting the entire estate to organic agriculture in 2010, they produce wines of extraordinary purity and regional character

Sablet is one of the Rhône's most prized and under-the-radar villages — tucked beneath the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail, neighbor to Gigondas and Vacqueyras, producing wines of real power, garrigue-laced character, and soul that consistently outperform their modest price. A classic Southern Rhône blend of Grenache for fruitness and mellowness, Syrah for structure and delicacy, and Mourvèdre for depth and concentration — the 2022 vintage delivering ripe dark fruit in spades. Out of the glass with power perfumed with lavender, thyme, black pepper, tapenade, licorice, and herbs of Provence — the fruit hitting high red notes alongside darker impressions, with a massive structure that calms beautifully with air. Previous vintages earned effusive praise from Wine Advocate's Joe Czerwinski, who called the Sablet "everything you want a Côtes du Rhône to be." Phil found it — you won't want to miss it.

91 Points
"This is a juicy, vivid and crunchy red with notes of cherries, Mediterranean herbs, roasted meat and some baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Well balanced and velvety, with plenty of energy at the center. Juicy berries with a lively finish. Bright and succulent. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold"
