2023 Domaine La Roubine - Gigondas (750ml)

From fifty-year-old vines on the north-facing slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail, this Gigondas from Domaine La Roubine blends 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, and 15% Syrah into a refined, powerful red that expresses its clay-limestone terroir with clarity.

The palate delivers a dense core of ripe red and black fruits, tempered by deep, savory notes. Deep, supple tannins yield a silky texture and an elegant balance between structure and fruit-forward freshness, inviting thoughtful aging while remaining vibrant in its youth.

Winemaking honors the terroir: raised without fining or filtration, the wine spends 14 months maturing 50% in concrete tanks and 50% in large French oak demi-muids, preserving the full expression of its site.

Cellar-worthy yet expressive now, it makes a stunning pairing for roasted lamb, game birds, or aged cheeses.

  • Grape blend: 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah
  • Aging: 14 months, 50% concrete tanks, 50% large French oak demi-muids
  • Fining/filtration: unfined and unfiltered
  • Terroir: clay-limestone
  • Pairings: roasted lamb, game birds, aged cheeses
  • Vine age: 50 years
  • Origin: Dentelles de Montmirail, Gigondas
92+ Points
"Another outstanding wine, the 2023 Gigondas from Domaine la Roubine unfurls with a delicate, perfumed bouquet of dark berries, flowers and pepper mingled with garrigue. Medium- to full-bodied, sappy and enveloping, it’s layered and textural, built around a nicely structured tannic frame and concluding with a long, ethereal finish. This is a blend of 70% Grenache Noir, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 3% Cinsault and 2% Counoise."
