First produced with the 1993 vintage to mark the winery's 25th anniversary, 25 Anni remains the estate's top flagship cuvée, born from careful clonal selection of the best Sagrantino fruit from vines aged 25 to 30 years. The 2020 shows a dark, brooding character that slowly unfurls in the glass, with balsamic spice, cocoa, and mentholated herbs joining dark berries, dark flowers, walnuts, and a hint of balsam. Full-bodied and youthfully dense, with muscular yet refined tannins, refreshing acidity, and a long, polished tobacco finish. Best from 2027 through 2045, this is Sagrantino at its most serious and ambitious.

Youthfully dense and velvety in feel, it sweeps across the palate like molten chocolate, displaying ripe wild berry fruits contrasted by tactile minerals and spice. Its acidity does a fantastic job of maintaining balance, as the 2020 leaves a coating of sweet tannins
and primary staining of fruit, finishing long and pleasantly chewy. This is a much more accessible vintage of Caprai's Sagrantino 25 Anni, yet no less complex.
