An Addy Bassin's Direct Import!

Domaine de Mourchon sits near the medieval village of Séguret in the southern Rhône Valley, founded in 1998 by Walter McKinlay. Winemaker Sébastien Magnouac joined the estate in 2000, and together they have built the domaine into a thirty-five hectare property producing around one hundred fifty thousand bottles annually. Mourchon divides its vineyard sites into three terroirs based on ripening pattern, named Sausse, Loubié and Mourchon, an approach that lets each cuvée express a distinct character rooted in its specific soil and exposure.

The Loubié rosé comes from vines grown at roughly three hundred twenty meters on a mix of clay, limestone and grey sandstone, a terroir known for producing fresher, more elegant wines than the estate's warmer sites. The blend combines Grenache and Syrah, harvested and processed using a saignée method, where juice is bled off a red wine vat, followed by direct pressing to capture additional freshness. The result is a lighter-bodied rosé built around finesse rather than concentration.

The wine shows a pale salmon-pink color and offers aromas of strawberry, citrus and spring flowers, joined by peach and raspberry on the palate. It stays bright and refreshing, with good acidity carrying through a long, fruit-driven finish. This makes it a natural match for ratatouille, a summer barbecue spread or spicier Asian dishes.
