Bernard Baudry founded his eponymous estate in the early 1980s with just a couple of inherited hectares in Cravant-les-Coteaux, a village that produces nearly half of all Chinon. After training at the Lycée de Beaune, he quickly rose to prominence for wines defined by precision and a clear sense of place. Today his son Matthieu, who has worked alongside his father since 2000, leads the estate, continuing the same organic, hands-off philosophy that built the domaine's reputation over the decades.

The Cabernet Franc for this rosé is drawn primarily from a small plateau vineyard just above the Croix Boisée site, called Les Balais, where stony clay and flint sit over limestone, lending the wine a firm mineral backbone beneath its fruit. The hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed, with the direct-run juice fermented slowly in unlined cement vats using native yeasts and no added sulfur until fully dry. Only a small amount of sulfur is added at bottling, preserving the wine's clarity and purity.

The 2025 pours a very pale pink and offers subtle aromas of citrus, orchard fruit, and crushed stone. The palate is elegant and silky, with pure red berry flavors and bright, refreshing acidity carrying through a clean finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled fish, charcuterie, or a simple salad of summer vegetables.
