2025 Enfield Wine Co. - Rose Foot Tread (750ml)
The 2025 Foot Tread comes from Enfield Wine Co., a small California producer founded by winemaker John Lockwood, who built his winemaking foundation working harvests with Ted Lemon at Littorai and later farming Sonoma Coast and Russian River vineyards for Failla Wines. This vintage marks the second release sourced from a high-elevation mountain vineyard, and the change in fruit source shows clearly in the glass.
Where the prior vintage leaned into texture and wildness, this bottling turns toward precision and elegance. The nose is mineral driven, with pale, almost alpine fruit that carries a haunting, ethereal quality. Raspberry, guava, and green apple skin open into notes of glacier water, cinnamon, white pepper, and rose petal. On the palate, medium-plus acidity keeps the wine vibrant and energetic, and a lingering mineral finish gives it a crystalline, refined character reminiscent of classic mountain-fruit vintages from Enfield's past.
At 13.0% alcohol, this rosé stays light on its feet without sacrificing depth. It suits charred zucchini, fresh summer vegetables, or a loaded Niçoise salad, making it a versatile pour for warm-weather meals.
