2025 Girolamo Russo · Etna Rosato DOC

Region Mount Etna (northern slope), Sicily, Italy
Producer Girolamo Russo (Giuseppe Russo)
Grape Nerello Mascalese, with a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio
Vineyard Organically farmed, 650–780m elevation, ancient lava-flow soils

From one of Etna's benchmark producers — Giuseppe Russo took over the family estate in 2005 and has built a reputation for some of the finest rosés and whites on the volcano, alongside acclaimed single-contrada reds. Grown high on Etna's northern slope in mineral-rich volcanic soils, this Rosato is 100% Nerello Mascalese sourced from organically farmed vines. Expect a pale, brilliant pink in the glass with a perfumed bouquet of wild berries, peach blossom, Sicilian lemon blossom (zagara), and Spanish broom, carried by Etna's signature flinty minerality and bright, saline-edged acidity. Lithe, complex, and food-versatile — equally at home with raw fish, light seafood, or a peppery cheese plate.
