Alambique Serrano 3 Anos Single Cask #319 "Prestigio" Rum 700ml

This single cask expression comes from Alambique Serrano, the Krassel family distillery in Santa María Tlalixtac, high in Oaxaca's mountainous Cañada region. The family's rum-making history began when German immigrant Max Krassel arrived in Oaxaca in 1930 and learned the local art of aguardiente distillation, eventually designing his own custom continuous still. Today his grandsons Rommel, Axel, and William Krassel run the operation as third-generation distillers, and Cask #319 was distilled specifically by Axel and William in March 2022, bottled for the retailer Prestige LeDroit as the "Prestigio" selection in September 2025.

Like all Alambique Serrano rums, this cask starts from organic sugarcane hand-harvested on the steep hillsides above the distillery, milled the same day it's cut, with the fresh juice gravity-fed through hoses stretching up to two kilometers down to the palenque. The naturally fermented cane juice was distilled entirely on the family's custom Krassel column still, then aged as a single cask for three years and four months in American oak that had previously held bourbon, without any water, sugar, or coloring added before bottling.

Expect the house's signature agricole-driven character, with orange peel, cinnamon, and baking spice layered over vanilla and caramel from the bourbon wood, backed by ripe apple, raisin, and a peppery finish.
