Clement V.S.O.P. Rhum Vieux Agricole Rum 700ml

Rhum Clément is produced at Habitation Clément in Le François, Martinique, on the Domaine de l'Acajou estate that Homère Clément purchased in 1887. The house grows all of its own sugarcane, and workers still harvest by cutting the stalks as low to the ground as possible, since gravity concentrates the plant's sugars near the base. The cane travels to the distillery within an hour of cutting to preserve its freshness before pressing.

Once extracted, the sugarcane juice ferments using a proprietary organic yeast strain, then passes through Clément's single-column copper still, a design modeled on traditional Armagnac stills from mainland France. VSOP carries the AOC Martinique rhum agricole designation and matures a minimum of four years in a combination of virgin Limousin oak barriques and re-charred bourbon casks, a pairing that lends both structure and sweetness to the spirit.

The rhum shows a brilliant mahogany color. The nose opens with cocoa bean, warm caramel, and exotic spice, while the palate carries coconut, banana, and papaya alongside a creme brulee richness. It finishes with mellow vanilla and caramel lingering after each sip.
