English Harbour Antigua Silver Rum 1L
English Harbour Silver comes from the same Antigua Distillery Limited that a group of Portuguese rum shop owners founded in St. John's back in 1932, originally selling their spirit under the Caballero and later Cavalier names before the premium English Harbour line launched decades later. Silver sits at the entry point of that lineup, offering a clean, unaged style built on the distillery's signature copper still, one of only two all-copper continuous stills still operating anywhere in the Caribbean.
The rum starts with molasses sourced from the Dominican Republic and Guyana, fermented and then run through ADL's five-column copper still. Unlike the distillery's aged expressions, Silver is typically bottled unaged or with only brief maturation, and it is filtered afterward to strip away color and keep the spirit crystal clear. The result is bottled at a standard 40% ABV, designed for versatility rather than sipping complexity.
On the nose, Silver is light and clean, with a gentle sweetness of cane sugar and bright citrus zest reminiscent of green apple or lime, underscored by a subtle grassy note. Its crisp, straightforward character makes it a flexible mixing spirit that lets other cocktail ingredients take the lead.
