Kraken Gold Spiced Rum 750ml

Kraken Rum is owned and distributed by Proximo Spirits and takes its name from the legendary giant sea monster, a theme carried through its striking Victorian-style bottle with looped hoop handles and an illustration of a giant squid on the label. Since launching in 2010 with its signature black spiced rum, the brand has built out its portfolio with new expressions, releasing Gold Spiced Rum as a lighter counterpart to its original dark, higher proof release.

Gold Spiced Rum is produced in the Dominican Republic, a shift from the Trinidadian base rum used in Kraken's original expression. The spirit is aged two years by the sea, then blended with a mix of natural spices and caramel coloring to build its character. Bottled at 35% ABV, considerably lower than the 47% ABV of Kraken's flagship black rum, it is designed as a smoother, more approachable spiced rum.

The rum pours a warm amber gold and opens with caramel, oak, and banana bread on the nose. On the palate, molasses and dark spice settle into caramelized sugar, finishing with toasted oak and vanilla. Its balanced, mellow profile makes it a versatile base for classic rum cocktails like a Daiquiri or Mojito.
